Class Evaluation
  1. Some things that I liked about the class were that the class was easy to pass. I also liked the fact that we were able to use computers and learned how to create certain animations. I also liked how we were able to research stuff and learn more about keys in life and learning some thin gs we should follow to be successful.
  2. I did not like how boring this class was. We were given assignments to do that were really boring and its hard trying not to fall asleep in this class. I also didn't like the fact that we do the same thing every time we are in this class
  3. Some recommendations to I'm,prove this class would be to not be working on the same assignment for over 2 days. I would also recommend that the teacher shows us movies about the invention of some computers or the internet or anything that relates with computers and programming.
  4. No I am not reading my goals journal EVERY SINGLE DAY, I do read it everyday I have time and I remember about it, but I am not on it everyday like that.
  5. I cannot say that I am committed to being CTR 24/7 for personal reasons which I choose to not discuss about.
  6. I did not learn anything that I plan to tell others to help them out because nothing I learned in this class was useful to my life and my personal experiences.
  7. One thing that I will remember from this class is that the teacher has a bible club.

Steven Paul Jobs was an American inventor, designer and entrepreneur who was the co-founder, chief executive and chairman of Apple Computer. Apple's revolutionary products, which include the iPod, iPhone and iPad, are now seen as dictating the evolution of modern technology. Born in 1955 to two University of Wisconsin graduate students who gave him up for adoption, Jobs was smart but directionless, dropping out of college and experimenting with different pursuits before co-founding Apple with Steve Wozniak in 1976. Jobs left the company in 1985, launching Pixar Animation Studios, then returned to Apple more than a decade later. Jobs died in 2011 following a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

The Psychology of Winning

The 10 Qualities of a Total Winner

Quality 1: Positive Self-Expectancy "Life is a self fulfilling prophecy. True winners go into every event expecting to win."
When you give yourself a positive self-expectancy it means that you only expect he positive things to come out of your actions. Having these expectancy is one way to help psychologically motivate yourself because if you keep telling yourself that you can do it then you will put in even more effort to make that a reality. An example of this is when you are going to an interview to see if you get a dream job of yours. You have to self motivate yourself by telling yourself that you can do it and this positive self-expectancy will make you even more confident so the chances of you getting that job will increase. Psychologically motivating/tricking yourself is a really smart way to increase your chances of success. Only expect the best for yourself and you will only get the best.

Image result for self-motivation

Quality 2: Positive Self-Motivation
"True winners dig deep and find motivation inside themselves to get through that tough task or to learn a new skill."
Self-motivations is something we should all have because without self-motivation we might not feel like being productive. To have self-motivation means that you motivate yourself to do whatever you set your mind too. An example of this is when you are too tired to get up in the morning but you convince yourself to get up and do something for the day. The reason why self-motivation is so important is because is no one is around to motivate you then who else is other than yourself. Another example of this is when you want to better yourself as a person whether that is in physical shape or intellectually. You should do it only for yourself because you should really want it.

Image result for self-image

Quality 3: Positive Self-Image
True winners are confident and view themselves as competent, valuable human beings.
When you have a positive self-image it means you see yourself as perfect and nothing wrong with you. When you have a positive self-image you give yourself a positive attitude which can make you a person whom others would want to associate with. You have to view yourself as perfect before others will. An example in which this quality would be useful in is when you or someone is running for a position in power such as presidency or governmental. The reason why positive self-image would be necessary in this situation is because self-image is important. I know this as a fact because John F. Kennedy use self-image as a way to help himself get votes. If you do not look be suited for a position then you will most likely not get it.

Image result for self-Direction

Quality 4: Positive Self-Direction
When we talk about sense of direction, we are talking about knowing where you want to go in life. This is one of the most important things that you have to know because wherever you want to go in life will impact your future dramatically. Sense of direction should be one of the skills you choose to improve on because where you go in life will determinate the type of life style you live. Wherever you want to go should be a place where you can improve and not a place that is for CTW people. Positive self-direction means you only move forward in life and don't take steps back. Self direction should always be forward in a CTR direction. An example of this could be when you go to college. If you are invited to a party on a school night and you have to study for an exam, you should stay and study because even though the party may be fun for a few hours, in the long run you might look back on it and regret it knowing you could have stayed home and studied to pass the exam. No one but yourself should be responsible for guiding you in the right direction.

Image result for Self-Control

Quality 5: Positive Self-Control
When you have self control it means that you don't do anything you shouldn't even though you might have the need to do something, but even though it's wrong, You still do not do it. An example of self control is when you go to a buffet. You might feel the urge to eat anything and everything you can but you have to know your limits and not pass them. If you go to a buffet and have a goal to only eat a certain amount of calories and you stick to your goal, that is positive self-control. This quality isn't really talked about because everyone learns self-control when they are little.

Image result for self-discipline

Quality 6: Positive Self-Discipline
"You have to discipline yourself or else someone else will discipline you into doing what they want you to do. Total winners have the power to discipline and take control of their lives."
It is important to keep yourself discipline because you have to be responsible for your self and your own actions. An example of positive self discipline is when you go somewhere and you really want to by something but you know you have to save your money up to buy something else. To have self discipline would mean that you don't buy the item that you want because you know that in the long run, you won't have money for what you really need to buy.

Image result for self-esteem

Quality 7: Positive Self-Esteem
"Your mood and outlook on life affect the way you see the world and how you interact in it. Total winners are positive, powerful people who make people feel good and provide a good vibe to those around him/her."
When you have a positive self esteem it means that you are confident and you don't doubt yourself. An example in which self-esteem would be important is when you are presenting to a public audience. If you lack that self esteem, it will show and make your presentation appear unprofessional. Self-esteem is also important in job interviews. You are way more likely to be hired if you seem very confident.

Image result for Self-Dimension

Quality 8: Positive Self-Dimension
Total winners like in the present. They know that now is all there is. They don’t get caught up in the past or worry about the future. They simply handle the business that they can handle which is the stuff going on today, now.

Image result for self-awareness

Quality 9: Positive Self-Awareness
Total winners are aware of their power. They understand that they can be anything with enough effort and determination.

Image result for positive action

Quality 10: Positive Action
Total winners take positive action in their business and with their friends and family. They are uplifting and motivating individuals who inspire the best from themselves and other
Positive actions are always good actions because they are not negative. The positive actions will bring out the positive actions whom you associate yourself with.

  9. Talk to yourself.
  10. Treat yourself when you tell the truth.
Barbara A. Lewis

Being honest is one of the best character traits you could have. Being honest is one of the main skills on how to be well liked by others. I am sure you've hears the saying, honesty is the best policy. The first tip says to make a commitment to tell the truth because you are the first person you have to be honest with. If you cannot be honest to yourself, how could you be honest to others. The second tip says to tell someone that you are committed because you want to have others keep you to your commitment. The third tip  says to think before you lie because you don't want to tell a lie then regret it later. The fourth tip says to be careful when you use sarcasm or exaggerate because if you say it the wrong way the wrong time, it can be seen as rude or might be taken seriously then seem like a lie. Tip five says to not twist the truth or leave parts out because if you twist the truth, you are telling a lie. If you leave parts of the truth out, you are not lying but, if you know you are leaving parts out then you will be seen as dis truthful for not telling the truth.

Pyramid of Success
John Wooden

25 Blocks
Block 1 Industriousness: "There is no substitute for work. Worthwhile results come from hard work and careful planning."

Image result for Enthusiasm

Block 2 Enthusiasm: "It is the engine that powers all blocks of the Pyramid. It is why I chose Industriousness and Enthusiasm as the cornerstones of my Pyramid of Success. It is where everything begins."
When you are enthusiastic you are ready to do whatever you have to do. Enthusiasm is what strives a person to complete their goals and have a fun time doing it. Enthusiasm is also very useful when you play a sport or try anything that is competitive because you will be eager to go out there and give it your best shot. An example of enthusiasm is if your teacher says that there will be a test next class. If you are enthusiastic and want to take it, you will study eagerly and when it comes to the test you will pass because you are looking forward to it and you studied.

Image result for Friendship

Block 3 Friendship "Comes from mutual esteem, respect and devotion. Like marriage it must not be taken for granted but requires a joint effort."
If you want to have more opportunists in life and want to have people you can trust and depend on you have to start to make friendships with people devoted to be successful. If you start to befriend people who do not have goals for themselves then it is likely that they will not be helpful to you or they will bring you down. You have to befriend people who have goals for themselves because if you hang out with people who want to be successful, they could influence you to do better. Also, when you have friends, they might be able to hook you up with certain things. If you want to get a job, one of your friends might know someone who is hiring. If you need help on an assignment, you can depend on a friend. But, friendships aren't a one way thing, you will also have to there when your friends need you.

Image result for Loyalty

Block 4 Loyalty "To yourself and to all those depending upon you. Keep your self-respect."

When you are loyal, it means that you always stand by someones side or your own. Being loyal means being committed to what you believe is right. A great example of being loyal is a dog, a dog is always loyal to his owner and his family. Another example of being loyal is when you are in a relationship with someone. You have to be committed to that person only and don't do anything to disrespect them. Another example of this is when a friend asks you to back them up in a certain situation and you have to be down for your friend and always have their back. But, you should always check in with your friends before you decide to do something for them because what you might believe they want might not actually be the thing they wanted. One way to be loyal to yourself is by not doing anything that will damage your body such as smoking, drinking, doing drugs, or getting tattoos. Being loyal to yourself means getting yourself the best education you can and doing what's right. Being loyal means choosing what is best for you and those around you. Being loyal is important because it will help you build relationships which are beneficial if you ever need help with anything because you can depend on those who can depend on you.

Image result for cooperation

Block 5 cooperation "With all levels of your co-workers. Listen if you want to be heard. Be interested in finding the best way, not in having your own way. "

What this means is that you need to be considerate towards others so treat others the way you would want to be treated. If you want someone to listen to you, then you must listen to them first. Always think about how the other person feels. Don't always think about your way and how you want it.

Image result for Ambition

Block 6  Ambition (For noble goals)
When you have ambition it means that you see things threw to the end. It is similart to having motivation to complete a task. When you have ambition, you have a strong desire to complete a goal you have set or someone has set for you. Ambition requires determination and hard work. This is a important block in the pyramid of success because when if you don't have ambition then it is not likely you will complete any goals. An example of where ambition would be essential is when you want to get into your dream school. Hundreds of thousands of students compete to get into one certain school and it is competative because everyone wants to strive to enter the same school so you must have ambition to tell you that you will make it into that school and you have to work hard for what you really want in life. Ambition can also be used in small situatoins. Another example of where you might see ambition is in a sport game. Everyone wants to win and the winner would most likely be the one who strives for first. Ambition is really important because ambition is the motivation we have to live our lifes.

Image result for self-control

Block 7 self-control "Practice self-discipline and keep emotions under control. Good judgement and common sense are essential."
When you have self control it means that you are able to do your work or achieve a goal without letting your emotions play a role in your accomplishments because they can bring you down. Self control is very necessary because it is unprofessional to let your emotions out when you are conducting business. An example of this can be when you are at school making a presentation. You have to remember that you have to do the best you can and not emotions play a role in your presentation because if you get mad a t a comment or react on it based on emotion it will make you look bad. You have to have control over yourself because if you don't, you won't go far in life. Self-control is one of the first skills you should develop because self-control will show you what you can and can't handle.

Block 8 Alertness "Be observing constantly. Stay open-minded. Be eager to learn and improve."

Block 9 Initiative "Cultivate the ability to make decisions and think alone. Do not be afraid of failure, but learn from it."

Block 10 Intentness "Set a realistic goal. Concentrate on its achievement by resisting all temptations and being determined and persistent."

Block 11 Sincerity (keeps friends)

Block 12 Adaptability
When you are able to adapt to any environment or situation you are put on, then you will be able to make something out of your life because not everyone can be able to do that. An example of this is when you are in a new class. The sooner you are able to adapt to a new class, the sooner you will start to learn more effectively. This skill can be compared to an animals skill in the wild to adapt. If an animal is not able to adapt to its new environment then it's likely that it will not survive. Being able to new situations will improve the chances of you being successful.

Block 13 Condition "Mental-Moral-Physical. Rest, exercise and diet must be considered. Moderation must be practiced. Dissipation must be eliminated."

To condition yourself, it means to get use to doing something. Where that means waking up at a certain time everyday or doing all your chores without being asked. This is a important skill to learn because when you are conditioned you don't have to really think about the thing you are conditioned to do. An example of this can be, doing your homework as soon as you get home. Being conditioned will keep you on track because it is almost like an automatic response to do whatever you are conditioned to do.

Block 14 Skill "A knowledge of and the ability to properly and quickly execute the fundamentals. Be prepared and cover every little detail."

Block 15 Team spirit "A genuine consideration for others. An eagerness to sacrifice personal interests of glory for the welfare of all."

When you have team spirit, you are willing to slow down your own paste to make sure you go up as a team and not as individuals. An example of team spirit is when you are playing a sport in school. If you want to show team spirit, you should be the one cheering the team up and helping them to improve. Another example is you putting yourself before the team so everyone can go up. This is a selfless act which will gain you respect from others. Being selfless for the team is one of the strongest actions you can act out that will earn you respect from the rest of the team.Team spirit means to motivate others to do well.

Block 16 Honesty (in thought and action) "Honesty is the best policy." (Ben Franklin)
Honesty is one of the most searched for character trait. To be honest means to tell the truth at all time. This does not mean to be mean to everyone and say all the things that come to mind. You should be honest when you are asked for your opinion. If you see someone do something bad, you should do what's right and be honest about what happened.

Block 17 Resourcefulness (proper judgment) “Make the most out of what you have.” (Anonymous)

When you are resourceful, it means that use what is given to you and make the most of it. This skill is one that is sometimes learned at a young age when some people have to grow up with minimum resources. Someone who is resourceful doesn't let anything go to waste. An example of being resourceful is when you use your time properly and don't waste it. When you are resourceful you are smart with the decisions you make.

Block 18 poise

When you are poise you are calm and are handling a situation in life that is going well. An example of poise is when you are taking or preparing for a test but you aren't stressing because you know all the criteria and you've been studying. Another example of being poise is when you been having a stressful day but you don't allow that to keep you down or change your mood. Being poise can improve your relationships because it is easier to make friends if you always present yourself as a positive person.

Block 19 Confidence "Thorough preparation breeds confidence" Gerald Bell in "The Carolina Way"
When you have confidence, you don't show any fear and you are not nervous. When you are confident, you feel certain about something. Confidence is something really looked for in jobs that require speeches or anything that is professional. Confidence is when you believe in yourself and over come your fear.

Block 20 Reliability (creates respect)
When you are a reliable person, it means that you are someone who is responsible and others could trust you to do something you say you will do. When you are reliable you are trustworthy of getting your part done. An example of this is when you are planning out an event. The people who are responsible for the event planning and making are people who are reliable. If an unreliable person was put to set up the event, there is a chance that they will not do there part. Reliability is very important when you are applying for a job because no one wants to hire someone who is not responsible.

Block 21 Fight (determined effort)
When I say fight as one of the blocks I don't mean it in the sense of fighting with someone to cause physical harm but to put on a challenge to prove or show you point on something. Another way that the word fight could be seen as is when you are going through a rough time but you have to fight through it and get better. An example of this is a lawyer because they fight for their clients to win.

Block 22 Competitive Greatness " Be at your best when your best is needed. Enjoyment of a difficult challenge."
When you are competitive you are showing that you are giving effort to complete your objective. Being competitive is one way to show how hard you are willing to work to outshine others.

Block 23 Integrity (purity of intention)

Block 24 Faith (through prayer) Believe and Achieve. Positive belief.

Image result for patience

Block 25  Patience (good things take time)
Having patience is an important building block in the pyramid of success because without patience, you wouldn't be able to wait for the good things in life to happen and you won't have an enjoyable life. Having patience is a great skill that someone should develop as early as they can because when you are patient, you are able to out wait other people who are also as patient as you. This can come into hand in a real life situation, such as when you are waiting in line for something. Someone who is inpatient wouldn't be able to wait in line for a long time without getting frustrated. When you are patient, you are able to enjoy life better knowing you have gotten everything you need by being patient and waiting your turn. Another example of patience is life itself. Many of the things we earn has to deal with patience. We go to college because we know that if we are patience and study rather than finding a job right out of high school, then we could get an even better career later once you've spent more time at school.

Final Reflection:
For the last two months we've been researching and learning about Building blocks for the pyramid of success and they are all very useful and fundamental to live a happy and successful life. All of the blocks are good skills that can be easily learned and applied in everyday life situations. The reason why they are so useful is because they all help you out to become a better person and character. Just missing one of these building blocks in your life could be detrimental to your success. John Wooden is the man who created the pyramid of success by living his life and seeing and learning what it takes to have success. He is a coach and he teaches all of his players these building blocks because he wants them to be the best they can be.

10 Keys to personal Power

Clarity: "Have vision. Determine what you want to be, do or have in life.  Have a sense of direction and know where you’re going.  If you do not have clear specific goals in life, you are doomed forever to work for others who do."
What this quote means is that

Competence: "If you commit to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work, the better you get."
Concentration: "Make the best use of your time. Ask yourself "is this the best use of my time?" before you start anything."
  • Train Your Mind
  • Think Things Through
  • Listen to Your Intuition
  • Learn From Set Backs
Creativity: "Except the fact that every human being is a genius.  The hallmark of creativity is asking questions.  The people who are most creative ask the most questions."
Consideration:
Commitment:

what this quote means is that if you try your hardest to get something then, your hard work will pay off. For example, if you are always getting A's on your test, you will get good grades and those will be used your you college resume.Because of this you will be accepted to the school of your choose.

One important way to make sure that you can be the best you and a way to personal power. you should always stay focus and stay on track. When you are taking a test you don't pass by getting off track, you have to stay focus and finish your current goal to complete you future goals/ your main goals in life. A real situation you might find yourself one day can be when you are being interviewed for a job. You can't get distracted because you will ruin the chances of you getting that position. Concentration also plays a key role when you are playing a skilled game such as chest or checkers. You have to keep track and stay concentrated to prevent the opponent from beating you due to you not paying attention to a move that was played. Concentration is one of the most important rules to be successful.
Comment Sense:

To be a successful person and how to be the best you, you have to have common sense. Common sense is something we all have but some of us don't use it. Having common sense means just knowing the simple things in life. One example of this is knowing what to expect your grade to look like when you don't do your homework. Without common sense no one would be successful in life. You should also think things threw before you try them. As well as to learn from your mistakes and set backs. You should also be training your mind on a daily basis to improve your knowledge and critical thinking skills. Common sense is one of the only things that you are born with that can get you far in life if you know how to use it.

When you are a creative person you get more ideas then others and that is a good thing because inventions are just ideas thought up by creative people before they are invented. One example in which creativity is needed is in certain games and as well in school. I remember that in certain assignments you get points for creativity and if there's no creativity then you will lose points. Creativity will help you reach your best personal power because creativity is a great way to get problems solved because you can think outside the box and you don't limit yourself.

"The quality of your relationships with other people will determine your success in life."
"Develop the people skills you need to become a better communicator.  Take courses in listening, speaking, etc."
"If you were to learn one new word a day, within 5 years, you’ll be the best educated person in history."
When I say consideration I mean that you have to consider everything that could happen due to a choice you make. Also, this key which is consideration can be used when you have to think about others before you choose to make an action. By think about others, I mean that you have to think abut how they would feel or think when something is said or done. It is great to be considerate because you should want everyone to like you because when people like you, they can put in a work for you. When I say, put in a word for you, I mean that they can back you up when you are in a bad position. An example of this can be when you are blamed or falsely accused of a crime you didn't commit. If a person such as a principle or teacher like you, they could help you and back you up because they know that you are a great person. Being considerate will get you for in life and help you be more well liked by others.

Being consistent can make others rely on you and make your personal power increase. When you are consistent it shows that you know what you are doing and know how to maintain your path. It also can show others that you are someone that is reliable and also responsible. An example can be like a steady good-quality company vs a quick-production company. The quick-production company might be making a lot of products but can be not so good products. This shows that it has a bad consistency of producing bad or noneffective products.

Courage: "The  Fear of failure is the single greatness reason for failure in life."
To have courage you must not let the fear take you over. You have to conquer your fears in order to be able to do what scares you the most. To have courage it means you aren't afraid of standing up for what you believe in. If you see someone bothering another person, you will go up and tell them to leave them alone. You will be able to stand in front of an audience and give your explanation on what you believe is right. If you let your fears take over you, then you won't get anything done in life. There's this quote is the movie Cinderella Story and it states "Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game." It refers to baseball or softball and its for the players to remember if you keep the thought of striking out in your mind, then it will keep you from playing the game. You will be too focused on striking out rather than actually having fun and enjoying the game. It's good to have courage because then you will feel you can accomplish anything in the world. Tell yourself you can do it and at the end of the day, you will accomplish anything. Do what scares you the most because after you will feel good about yourself. You won't be afraid of accomplishing anything else.

Confidence: "You only get confidence by doing things over and over again ."
Being consistent means to always bring your A game and keep on giving effort in a steady way which is not decreasing or slowing down. When you are consistent you are never dropping, you aren't going down. Being consistent means to not increase nor decrease, it means to be effective over time. Being consistent at work is a great way to keep your job because when you are consistent at work, you are still putting in as much work as when you started to the job with the best amount of effort. Consistency is also something very important to athletes of all castigators. This is because if an athlete starts to show signs that they are slowing down, then it might be a early sign of losing.

Class Evaluation Some things that I liked about the class were that the class was easy to pass. I also liked the fact that we were able ...
